May 12th 2024 celebrated the third anniversary of Chris and Mark’s first co- written online release, “Angéline la reine de la danse”. Angéline set the precedent regarding the material on many of their projects that were to follow.
To be different from the majority of songwriters they decided to tackle sensitive and controversial subjects matter other writers tend to avoid. Some examples they have written about is, transgender issues, racism, homophobia, misogyny, bullying, homelessness, satirical politics, climate change, the ongoing conflict in Gaza and the Russian Ukrainian war.
Reading through the encouraging comments from friends, fans and followers confirmed that they made the right decision in their themes although they still continue to write contemporary rock pop ballads which are also well received.
In three years, they have co-written over twenty new compositions whilst also working and editing each other’s incomplete back catalogue of original songs. Fourteen of their joint works have now been released through the general media music platforms.
One of their songs about a homeless veteran, “My Battle Scars”, has reached a total of 28 thousand streams / hits on Spotify alone. Because of this encouraging response to their music, they decided to create this web site.
As previously mentioned, the songs are available for streaming and download on all the major music platforms: YouTube, Spotify, Deezer, Apple Music etc., however by browsing through chrismarkmusic.com, all of their material can be heard in one place.
Below is a taster of twelve songs and four videos covering various subject matter. If you wish to hear more of Chris and Mark’s music, follow “The Music” links above or below.
